102511 Advanced Neutron and Reactor Physics

Course Goals:

This course aims at instructing advanced aspects of neutron physics and reactor physicsn which arE related to neutron production in reactors, their moderation and thermalization and physical mechanisms. The course also provides knowledge about reactor theories and operating principles of nuclear power plants.

Course Learning Outcomes:

With the knowledge and experience from this lecture, students can work as an expert in facilities where neutron sources and neutron generating systems are used. When student graduate, they can use their experiences in any facility where neutron is generated, shielding of radiotherapy devices in medical centers, industrial applications where neutron probes are used, applications where neutron generators are used, as well as they can take part in all stages such as in nuclear researh laboratories in universities, radiation and nuclear safety, nuclear fuel management.
